I’m Johnna Balk.

And I’m running for re-election to represent our residents on the Farmington City Council.

Two years ago, you trusted my Farmington experience—and my background as a librarian, communicator, and seeker of truth.

As a Farmington parent, librarian, teacher, and engaged citizen, I’ve watched our city build on its strong foundation to succeed in a changing world. Now, I want to help us honor our history and shape the future of the city we call home.

As your representative on Council these past two years, I’ve voted for projects to make our city better. Public safety—and public art. The Farmington Road Streetscape. Sidewalks. New townhouses at the Maxfield site. Critical upgrades to the Warner Mansion—and the dollars to back it.

With every vote, I work to ensure Farmington continues to be a community of great neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown, and great neighbors of all ages, cultures, and walks of life.

I’m fighting for issues that affect all of Farmington.

Preserving Our Small-Town Charm

Development decisions must be made with residents’ needs in mind—and with a commitment to protecting Farmington’s history and charm. I will always put residents before developers and vote for smart development that enhances our neighborhoods and downtown.

Re-energizing Our Downtown

Farmington’s downtown is central to our quality of life. From completing the Farmington Road Streetscape to bringing back the Founder’s Fest, I’ve worked hard to help our downtown thrive after COVID—and the results have paid off, with new restaurants and businesses already opening due to our investments in the Streetscape and park projects. I’ve worked with our Downtown Development Authority to ensure we are nimble and creative in supporting our businesses and community organizations whenever challenges arise.

Investing in Our Infrastructure

Updated infrastructure will help our city succeed, today and in the future. I will continue to prioritize investing in our roads, sidewalks, water mains, green spaces, and municipal broadband to support our residents and local businesses.

Creating a Farmington for Everyone

Our culture is richest when it includes people from all walks of life, and when everyone is treated fairly. I’m committed to keeping Farmington a welcoming, inclusive community where people look forward to spending a season—or a lifetime.

Help me build Farmington’s future.
